Gift Card Program
Gift vouchers and cards are used by retailers to target the gifting spends of customers. Traditionally gift vouchers have been in use, however retailers have of late been migrating to gift cards since they are easier to control and manage due to their online authentication capability. Innoviti's uniPAY Marketing solution provides for a complete Gift Card management capability to retailers, allowing them to cost-effective and with full financial control.
Gift Card Program
Innoviti's uniPAY Marketing solution allows retailers to manage their Gift Card program on a turn-key basis. The solution comprises of a front-end uniPAY client that is integrated into either the retailer POS or a bank EDC (credit card swipe) machine for accepting the card transactions. At the backend the uniPAY switch and host manage the card issuance and accounting.
How it works?
- The issuance module is used to create gift cards, based on the creatives of the brand. These cards by themselves dont carry any value and are de-activated.
- The uniPAY client (gift card) is deployed in the POS or EDC to accept gift cards. When a customer wants to buy a gift card of a certain value, the value is loaded on the card by swiping it on the POS or EDC and sending the card number and value transaction to the uniPAY host through the switch. This action also activates the card.
- When a customer wishes to pay for goods or services through the card they visit the outlet and present the card. The cashier swipes the card on the POS or the EDC selecting redemption mode and the transaction is again routed to uniPAY host which first authenticates the card and then authorizes the transaction and debits the gift card account.
- The marketing team can view gift card reports in terms of sales and redemptions done by store. In case the POS billing files are integrated with the uniPAY host then the marketing team can also view the items purchased against the gift card.
