Discount cards are used by retailers to increase the customers’ spends by allowing variety of discounts on different products. Discount cards allows retailers to identify their customers, easy to control and manage due to their online authentication capability. Innoviti's uniPAY Marketing solution provides for a complete Discount Card management capability to retailers, allowing them to cost-effective and with full financial control.
Discount Card Program
Innoviti's uniPAY Marketing solution allows retailers to manage their Discount Card program on a turn-key basis. The solution comprises of a front-end uniPAY client that is integrated into either the retailer POS or a bank EDC (credit card swipe) machine for accepting the card transactions. At the backend the uniPAY switch and host manage the card issuance and accounting.
How it works?
- The issuance module is used to create discount cards, based on the creatives of the brand. These cards by themselves don’t carry any value and are de-activated.
- The uniPAY client (discount card) is deployed in the POS or EDC to accept discount cards. When a customer wants to have a discount card upon paying membership fee, the card is activated upon by swiping it on the POS or EDC and sending the card number transaction to the uniPAY host through the switch.
- When a customer wishes to avail the discounts through the card, they visit the outlet and present the card. The cashier swipes the card on the POS or the EDC, transaction goes to uniPAY host and all the discount offers enabled against that card displayed on the EDC/ POS. Customer can select the discount offer and redeem. Transaction is again routed to uniPAY host and updates the discount card account.
- The marketing team can view discount card reports in terms of sales and redemptions done by store. In case the POS billing files are integrated with the uniPAY host then the marketing team can also view the items purchased against the discount card.
