Shantanu Bhagwat

Shantanu is the Business Development Partner (Asia) for Amadeus Capital Partners Limited. Shantanu joined the firm in 2001 and since January 2005 has focused on supporting the efforts of Amadeus’ portfolio companies doing business in Asia, while also exploring possibilities for establishing strategic venture capital partnerships in the region.

At Amadeus, Shantanu has shepherded a number of investments for the firm including: Power Paper, which produces thin and flexible batteries known as micro-power source technology; Solexa, which is developing ultra-high throughput DNA sequencing technology; Plastic Logic, which has developed a process for producing flexible plastic transistors for use in computer displays; and Red-M, a company that offers products and solutions in wireless security.

Before joining Amadeus, Shantanu was a strategy consultant working for Monitor Company in London. Prior to Monitor, he served in the Indian Foreign Service as a career diplomat for several years, including a 4-year stint in Japan.

A graduate in Computer Engineering from India, Shantanu is a Charter Member of TiE in UK and on the Advisory Board at Asia-Silicon Valley Connection .
He holds an MBA from London Business School where he was a Chevening Scholar.
